Student ministry in the current day and age sometimes falls into the trap of trying to reinvent the wheel. We will try a million different fun and exciting things to bring kids into the church while the truth of the Gospel falls to the wayside. Ultimately, what students need is what everyone needs; an intimate and personal relationship with Christ. We need to be transformed into His image. There is no transformation without the Spirit’s work.
Hopewell’s Student Ministry has a great goal; to see the lives of youth be changed by Jesus Christ. We teach that anyone can be saved through faith alone, by grace alone, in Christ alone, according to Scripture alone, for the glory of God alone. These truths are never changing, whether someone is 12 years old or 17 years old. Our group is comprised of 6th graders all the way through the summer of a student’s 12th grade year. As a group we play games, we go on retreats and mission trips, we build each other up, and we faithfully study God’s Word. If you are interested in attending our group, we meet each week in our Education Building on Wednesday Nights from 6:00-8:00 pm. Or on Sunday mornings from 9:00-9:45 in the same place!
